Blower sizing and protection

• Always determine the duty point from airflow and differential pressure together.
• Use an inlet filter to prevent dust and solid particles entering the impeller.
• A relief valve protects the blower from operation above the permitted differential pressure.
• Use anti-vibration mounts and flexible piping connections to reduce transmitted vibration.
• For vacuum service, check the correct orientation of filtration, check valves and silencers.

Conveyed medium

Side channel blowers are intended primarily for clean, dry air or non-aggressive gases. The conveyed medium is not contaminated by oil. Dusty, wet, corrosive, hot or explosive gases require individual engineering.
